ABOUT :
This Site :
Welcome to my personal website which I have named Serving the KING in the city of kings . Sounds like a mouthful ? Well, this site exists as an extension to the ministry work that I am so privileged to do here in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. The work involves various groups and it may change with time, but one thing remains constant, my prayer is that the the gospel of our Lord Jesus remains the center of my life and ministry. All the ministry is made possible because of the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has given a sinner like me unmerited forgiveness and allowed me to be part of his family, the church. Furthermore, this grace was not only for me, but now God has been pleased to make me a part of his plan to share this momentous news of the gospel and invite others to put their trust in Jesus. This sums up the purpose of this website, which is to share reflections on God's Word and help each other live our lives in light of the life changing news of the gospel. He ( Jesus) was in nature God, but chose to be human and to die like a criminal on the cross, for the sake of sinful humanity including you and me. Read on and feel free to share your thoughts with me.

Tawanda Masango

My name is Tawanda Masango. I am married to Shupi and together God has blessed us with 4 children; Unathi (2016) , Andile (2018, now with the Lord) and Sanele (2019) and Amahle ( 2021). Andile was called home to be with Jesus while still in utero. As a family, we long for the day Jesus will appear and everyone will be raised back to to life, including our dear Andile. We live in the city of Bulawayo in Zimbabwe and we are very grateful to God to be in such a beautiful city.

I had the privilege of doing my theological studies at Moore Theological College in Sydney, Australia. My ministry journey started in 2011 when I joined FOCUS Zimbabwe, reaching out to university and college students with the gospel. As of December 2020, I joined SIM [ Serving in Mission ] , working as the coordinator for University and College Students Outreaches with SIM Zimbabwe. While my role is national, my day to day work is based at the National University of Science and Technology ( NUST) where I lead the work of Evangelical Student Network ( ESN), working closely with local evangelical churches. My role involves reaching out to university students with the gospel and seeking to see them grow to maturity in Christ, as we open God's Word together. My role also involves equipping students with life and leadership skills. Our hope is that they will leave the university equipped to live as ambassadors of Christ and godly leaders in the market place.

As of April 2024, I was appointed to serve as International Pillar Coordinator for Student Ministry with SIM. This is a global responsibility which involves, leading, encouraging, equipping and resourcing, envisioning and building a team amongst all SIM workers on the ground who are engaging the university through student ministry. The role also involves growing and managing partnerships whether with IFES, Navigators, CRU, Campus Outreach or another student ministry organisations or churches willing to partner with SIM in doing university ministry. The roles covers a number of countries where SIM is active in Asia, Latin America, and Africa.

I also serve in leadership with our local church, Living Hope Church, where I preach regularly. To find more about Living Hope Church, please visit the church website www.livinghope.co.zw
